Volunteering Blog #7
3rd last week!
Today, I didn't go straight to the imaging center, rather, I stayed in the volunteer office for the first 30 minutes when the techinicians were at lunch. There, I conversed with a couple of the other adult volunteers like Nancy. She was very nice, but I only talked for a little, so most of this blog will be on that.
CT scan was busy today. I met new techicians like Laurie (I think that's her name) and Caroline. Both were very nice, but i seemed to vibe with Laurie more. She was the first person there who recognized the name of my school, which was pretty cool (she lived pretty close to there). Jason was also here, and even thoough he had a bad day with crabby patients, he still worked hard and kept a smile on his face. Most of the patients I escorted were fairly chill and most did not complain at all. I said hi to the nurses too on the floor, who all recognized me. Honestly, having so much connections in this place feels awesome.
Now, I want to connect with the volunteers, because our shifts are always back to back, meaning if I'm entered, another is leaving. Next week, I planning communicating with them more and possibly become new friends.
