Another fun work day

Stepping foot back into the volunteer office and then the CT scanning room brought joy to me. I was excited.

I was greeted by the techinicans I worked with in the past two weeks: Jason, Debby, and Charlene. Even though the age gap was large, we talked and shared stories like were of the same. Debby and I connected through our love for cars, Jason and I bonded over his interest in gardening, and Charlene and I related through foods we enjoyed. The first patient we treated at 12:00 ruined the vibe instantly.

When the techinicians tried move some blankets, she screamed, "Don't you touch me, if you do, I'll kill you!" Jason looked at me shaking his head. Debby tried consoling her, but to no avail. They struggled to finish scanning her, and told me how some patients are not the easiest to deal with. I nodded my head, knowing I've seen worse at my internship.

The rest of the day was pretty chill, I wasn't constantly scanning and bring patients back to the waiting room. I had lots of break time to talk about whatever was on our mind. The CT scanning office was not just a business room, it was my new home. Coming back to the gardening topic, Jason shared his obession with gardening and how he grew fruit trees, basil, lettuce, strawberries, you name it. My man had everything. His backyard was a farm.

I love my new home. It maybe as miniscule as a small motel room, but the conversations are endless. If this the environment I get to be in for the next 4 weeks, I'll be happy for next Tuesday's throughout August.
