Sunday School Blog #7
Mixed opinions on today
Worship did not go so well, but not in a bad way. Let me explain. We sang like two songs and for the first two, the kids did not sing a lot. But the third one, one of the kids, Isaac, sang really loud. Though it was off-key, I really appreciated his energy and enthusiasm. Isaac got to sing on the mic and to me, that's a win. I wish the others were not afraid and did the same, but I shouldn't take anything for granted.
After worship, Lena taught me how to fingerpick and, honestly, it was so helpful. She taught me the CAGED method and barring and forming chord shapes across the fretboard to play the same chord across the neck. She also taught me a fingerpicking strategy (I forget what it's called; I'll have to ask her), but it was sooo helpful. It was basically just hitting the bass note then plucking the other strings in different combinations. And who knew you could use your ring finger to fingerpick? Maybe it was just me, but I found that interesting, and using it made the process much easier.
