Sunday School Blog #6
All by myself
Since Lena said she had to go to camp, I had to lead worship all by myself. I was met with familiar faces, Charlotte, Bo, and Susu were all here and couples new kids showed up. I asked for their names and to the whole group, asked what songs they wanted. Ella gave couple suggestions, but when I sang on stage, no one sang. Then Anna Sophia came late, and to be honest, she saved the day.
She was the only one singing loud! Charlotte and Ella sang quietly, but Anna Sophia's voice was actually audible. She actually was quite good at singing; maybe I was just a little too excited to her someone's voice. Regardless, I respected that someone sang out loud even without Lena singing with me. I adjusted to playing songs in the key of G but with a capo on the 7th fret, which makes it key of D. I realized singing in the key of G was too high for me and even slapping a capo on the 5th fret was too low for the kids to follow along. 7th fret was the sweet spot. It sounds confusing, but once you play and get used to pitching a song up or down, its simple, and you'll find a boatload more opportunities to fidget around with the guitar.
Sunday school is still challenge, but the experience is getting better. That's all that I care about. little improvements ultimately will lead to great outcomes.
