School Blog #2
With first term ending, how's the year going?
October's been really busy with college applications getting busier by the moment, but there's a lot of events from school to catch up on.
Classes: AP Calculus got slightly harder because of derivatives and now even derivatives of inverse functions, but it hasn't been too bad. I like exposing myself to new concepts like the derivatives of trig functions, so math has been a pretty smooth ride for me. In Finance, our class broke off into groups to compete in a stock simulator game, where I decided to be in a group with my brother. We lost a ton of money by shorting stocks, but we know now to not make rash decisions ever (we got a margin call!). Health now has a lot more biology-related content, like the digestive and cardiovascular systems, so I like it. To me, the class in a nutshell is making wise decisions to preserve your health (drink water, sleep well). Home Ec is really fun and enjoyable. I really enjoyed peeling the skin off apples for the apple crisp our class made. Also, the philly cheesesteak sub was great too. You begin to love the food you made because you worked to make it.
Events/ Activites: Worship Band has been going great; we received many compliments on the new team and performing has been going really smooth. Obviously, we mess up here and there, but overall this year's team has significantly improved in terms of vocals especially (fantastic new singers, who are truly passionate, I won't name any names just for confidentiality) and even instrumentals (new addtions to keys and guitar). I am truly blessed to have a worshp team that lifts God's name on high and truly seek to glorify Him. In Drama, the new spring play came out, so I am about to try out for a role on the cast. I heard there were lot of medium-length roles, so I might have one of those. I don't know if it's going to be better than Melvin, though (from my junior year play!) Student Government started too, so that's exciting. Hopefully the council can do great things for the school.
As October closes, November is coming right up. I am excited as for how God will work through me in the next month!
