Internship Blog #2
Exposing myself to more parts of the office.
Today, instead of sitting in the front desk for hours, I had the opportunity to observe the dentist and assistant. Their professional experience really showed itself when the assistant knew all the matierals to prepare and give at the right time. I also learned about more dental terminologies and tools, from the blue etch bottle to the bite grinding paper, to even the different scaling tools. The amount of patience and concentration of the dentists shocked me. The patients were so nice and we have fun, lively conversations. I did more sterilizing and I wiped down a lot of chairs and equipment. By observing and looking at what the professionals do, I saw a glimpse of what I am planning on doing for my career.
