Long day
What a long day! Since Laura, the front desk, was not here, I managed the front desk. I booked dozens of appointments for cleanings and fillings, and confirmed patients, which I havent done in a while. I added a new patient, which was pretty nerve-racking because I never did one before, and I lowkey messed up on typing in the insurance number on Easy Dental, but I figured it all out. Prescribing a patient at a pharmacy was a first too. I prescribed a patient to CVS for peridex mouth rinse and another for amoxicilin. Calling the pharmacies weren't that bad, because the ladies were nice and the process not too difficult. Looking back, I literally think I did everything: calling patients, confirming patients, prescribing, scheduling, and billing. Oh wait. I didn't clean chairs. Caleb did all that.
8-6 shifts are not easy at all, however I didn't feel too tired. I didn't even drink a coffee today. Working as the head front desk provided me with the reality of the job. I think the best part is greeting patients as they walk in and the worst is adding a new patient to the portal. Actually, lucnh is my favorite part. That 1 hour break time is a game changer.
