The end of my 2024-2025 basketball season!

Two years ago, in my sophmore year, I joined the varsity basketball team at Calvary.

It was nervewracking to be part of a program where almost everyone was better than me. However, the two captains welcomed my brother and I and we had such a fun season. I realized that the team was more than just shooting basketballs, but rather an opportunity to make more friends and socialize. The team was more like a new family to me, where everyone had a role.

Last year, I was junior and more of my younger friends had their first year in varsity so we had a very tight bond. We watched game film during lunch and had many laughs before and after practices. We pushed our bodies to our limits, but more importantly, we had an enjoyable time. I got the opportunity with my brother to be commentators for the varsity girls games, which was a blast sharing joy through our perspectives on the girls' games.

This year, my season just ended with a tough loss to Avon High. I remember the buzzer beater in our South Shore tech game, the several blocks in couple games, hanging out in classrooms, encouraging each other in our 10 second runs down and back the court. Now it's all over. Even though its very hard to let this season go, I look forward in the future and learn from this experience. I became more fit. My friends became like brothers to me. We were a family and that will never go away.
